Uniforms of the Tobolsk Province Police, 1918-1919

All material and reconstructions are by A. Karevskiy unless noted otherwise.

The chief of police and his assistant wore shoulder-boards with a wide longitudinal stripe of green braid, district chiefs and their assistants wore shoulder-boards with a narrow longitudinal stripe, and senior policemen wore shoulder-boards with two transverse stripes of green braid. Military officers could wear shoulder-boards corresponding to their rank.

The lack of a uniform prompted some police chiefs to try to solve the problem on their own. For example, the governor of the Tobolsk province temporarily established the normal style of military uniform for all types of police, but introduced special shoulder-boards.
