Uniforms of the Police of Petropavlovsk and Petropavlovsk District,
Akmolinsk Province, 1918

All reconstructions are by A. Karevskiy.

Meeting of the Petropavlovsk City Duma on 20 June 1918:

A uniform is established for the police. In winter, a black or grey greatcoat and trousers and papakha. In summer, blouse, trousers and a khaki field cap. Junior and senior policemen have green and white insignia on the left sleeve of their greatcoats and blouses in the form of a Roman numeral five with a serial number in the middle of the numeral. Other ranks have the same insignia, but without a serial number, and wear a green and white rosette on the left side of their chest. Police are armed with a sabre, revolver and rifle, depending on the nature of their duties.

The original for this page is at kolchakiya.ru/uniformology/Petropavlovsk_militia.htm.

Petropavlovsk is now Petropavl' and Akmolinsk is now Astana, both in Kazakhstan.
