Indirect information has that Aleksandr Doremedontovich Oliferov was a captain in the 17th Novomyrgorod Lancer Regiment in 1916. In 1918 he was captain of the 6th Mariinsk Siberian Rifle Regiment. By 1920 he was a colonel. He managed to preserve the core personnel of his unit during Kolchak's defeat.
He took part in the Zeledev anti-Bolshevik uprising of 1920 and in October 1920 formed a cohesive military unit of 600 men (two companies and two squadrons) from the rebels in the Krasnoyarsk region, leading it north to the Ob-Enisei Canal. He attempted to break through to join the rebel People's Army in Western Siberia. He fought successful battles against the Reds in the Tomsk province (Shcheglovsk and Minusinsk Districts).
On 2 February 1921 he was overtaken by the 64th Internal Service Brigade, based in Minusinsk, ChON detachments and police. By 5 February he was completely defeated. He was killed in battle, and his body was sent to Abakan for identification.
Small remnants of the detachment broke through the Achinsk and Minusinsk Districts to Tuva, and then to Mongolia, where they joined Baron von Ungern-Shtenberg's division.
The detachment had automatic rifles and machine guns, a supply train, a supply of skis and warm clothing. The chain of command was strictly observed, shoulder-boards and papakhi with black and white ribbons were worn, and other military attributes were observed.
